2nd Annual Saturday Stroll in Ephraim
September 13, 2008
Ephraim, Wisconsin (September 1, 2008) - September 13 marks the 2nd Annual Saturday Stroll promotional event in historic Ephraim, Wisconsin. The day is a village-wide celebration of music, special sales, food and other promotions from various businesses throughout one of Door County’s most scenic villages.
Shops, galleries, restaurants and lodgings open during normal Saturday business hours will offer a variety of unique promotions for the day, including raffles to win waterfront accommodations or free art from a local artist. Other sales include 10-50% off select merchandise, free seasonal goodies and much more. Visitors may stop in to the Ephraim Visitor Information Center for a complete list of the day’s promotions, or visit www.Ephraim-DoorCounty.com and click on the “Promotions” tab for more information.
Come for the savings and stay for the music. There will be four musical acts performing in Ephraim throughout the day, free of charge. Concert-goes may bring a lawn chair and make themselves comfortable at either of the two concert locations. Beginning at 11:00 a.m., Harborside Park, located 9986 Water Street (Hwy. 42), and offering spectacular views of Eagle Harbor, welcomes back the acoustic variety of the Nicks. A duo whose infectious harmonies made for one of the best-attended Monday night concerts of Ephraim’s summer music series in the park.
The front lawn of Fine Line Designs Gallery & Sculpture Garden, located at 10376 Water Street (Hwy. 42) in the northern end of Ephraim, hosts the 50-piece Hartland Community Band from 1:00-3:00 p.m. This all-volunteer concert band from southeast Wisconsin is excited to be making their second trip to Door County. With a concert repertoire ranging from Broadway classics to patriotic fare, they aim to emphasize the importance of community with every performance.
The traditional Scandinavian music of Christine and Nelson Whyatt will fill Harborside Park from 3:00-5:00 p.m. Hailing originally from Minnesota (and possibly looking to make Door County their year-round home) this couple has been married for 42 years, and making music together for 30 years! They are a delight to watch in their authentic Scandinavian costume.
The day’s music comes to an end with a performance from the father and son group of Jay and Richard Whitney from 4:00-5:30 p.m. in the tent at Fine Line Designs Gallery & Sculpture Garden. Every toe will be tapping to the blues and originals of these local favorites.
Whether you’re looking for some savings, or game for good old fashioned food for your ears, Ephraim hopes to play host to your and your family on September 13.
